About Dawn Bear
Dawn Bear is from the Diné (Navajo) Nation. She grew up in Pinetop/Lakeside, Arizona enveloped by the warmth of family. Her aunts and uncles taught her the art of teasing and more importantly the ability to laugh unabashedly.
Dawn Bear is working on her Creative Writing Certificate at Mesa Community College and studied English and American Indian Studies at Arizona State University. Her works have been published in Yellow Medicine Review and Pithead Chapel. She is currently working on a young adult novel titled The Glittering White World. In her free time, Dawn Bear enjoys cooking, exploring new foods, reading, music, travel, and spending time with her borrowed children i.e. nieces and nephews. She has two cats, Meadow and Boswell, and an impressive sock collection.
